White House Garden Tour

This weekend the White House Gardens were opened up for the public to take tours.  Tickets were required and free but on a first come, first served basis.  So we decided to get up get ready on Saturday and head into the city to get tickets to the earliest time we could.  We were there by 8:00 AM and got the first time which was 9:00 AM.  It was really great to be on the grounds of the White House.  I am glad we took advantage of that opportunity.  As Megan said, if you don't take a tour of the White House, this was the next best thing.

We did think it was going to be much more garden-y but it mostly trees that different Presidents had planted during their time as President, but the grounds were beautiful.

Waiting in line with our tickets

Right after we got through security

This is the south lawn.  This big open space is where they land the helicopter.

You know, just hanging out at White House.  If any one is wondering the balcony has patio furniture.

Here we are right next to the White House

Dax wanted to take some pictures.  I think he did a good job.

Dax also took this one of Megan and Cash

Rose Garden

Even the President needs something to relax.

Dax loved the playground though he wasn't allowed on it, for obvious reasons.

another good shot, They are still on the White House grounds, just farther away now.

The kitchen garden.  This is the first one on the White House grounds since Eleanor Roosevelt

Dax and Cash looking at the kitchen garden.  I thought this was a great picture of the boys.  I got the shot right before Cash decided to turn around.
